Very Delicious Apple Pie with Custard Cream

And here is the long-awaited recipe for apple pie with custard cream and pine nuts.

You will need:

For the dough:

  • 3 Eggs (room temperature)
  • 250g Ricotta
  • 270g Flour
  • 150g Sugar
  • 16g Baking powder
  • 40ml Vegetable oil
  • 3 Apples
  • 150g Custard Cream
  • Pine Nuts

For the custard cream:

  • 4 Eggs
  • 120g Sugar
  • 500ml Milk
  • 30g Flour
  • Vanilla extract

Let’s start with the custard cream:

  1. Heat the milk with the vanilla, but do not bring it to a boil.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the sugar.
  3. Add the flour while continuing to whisk.
  4. Gradually add the milk while whisking.
  5. Pour the mixture back into a saucepan and place it over medium heat.
  6. Constantly stir with a whisk until the custard reaches the desired consistency.
  7. Remove the custard and let it cool in a cool place.

Now, let’s move on to the batter:

  1. Begin with the ricotta. Start by beating the ricotta and sugar together.
  2. Gradually add the eggs, continuing to beat.
  3. Add the vegetable oil while continuing to beat.
  4. Add the sifted flour and baking powder.
  5. Transfer the dough to a baking dish.
  6. Peel and slice the apples. Decorate the pie with the apple slices.
  7. Cover the apples with the custard cream and pine nuts.
  8. Bake the pie for 40 minutes at 170°C (340°F). Note that it may take longer, so check the pie’s readiness with a toothpick or matchstick.
