Chocolate Cake Similar to ‘Panettone’

You will need:

  • 260g Flour
  • 50g Cornstarch or potato starch
  • 200g Sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 4 Eggs
  • 40g Cocoa Zest of one orange
  • 105g Milk
  • 1 tbsp Any liqueur (optional)
  • 125g Vegetable oil
  • 6-7 tbsp Nutella
  • 25g Chocolate chips
  • 16g Baking powder

To begin, beat the eggs with sugar.

Then add milk while continuing to beat.

Now add vegetable oil and liqueur while still beating.

Sift in the flour, starch, cocoa, and baking powder.

Next, add all the dry ingredients to the batter and mix.

Add orange zest and salt, then mix again.

Transfer the batter to a panettone mold (750g size) or a baking pan (17cm, but with tall edges and lined with parchment paper). Alternatively, use a wider pan, but keep in mind that the cake won’t be as tall, and the baking time may be reduced.

Spoon Nutella over the surface of the batter and sprinkle with chocolate chips.

Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for approximately 60 minutes, but check for doneness before removing from the oven. I recommend covering your cake with foil after 40 minutes of baking. This way, the cake will bake faster and won’t darken on top
